Who We Are

VanWinkle Ranch is a conventional cow/calf producer in western Colorado. Our product is marketed directly to consumers. Some of our cattle also enter the food supply chain to ensure high-quality protein is available to everyone, regardless of how they choose to purchase it.

We sell quarters, halves, and whole beef directly to families in our area. We also specialize in ground beef bundles to meet busy families' need for economical, convenient, and nutritious meals.

Grass-Fed & Grain-Finished

Our freezer beef program cattle are 18-28 months of age. They are grass-fed and grain-finished for about 120 days to ensure abundant marbling for the best flavor, but not excess fat to be trimmed later. In the grain finishing phase, they eat a balanced ration of corn, protein supplement, and hay.

The cattle in our ground beef program are grass-fed and grain-finished on a similar ration, but for only 60 days. This provides lean ground beef with excellent flavor.
